With just a mobile phone, a laptop and a kitchen table, right next to a heavily utilised kettle, our founder and Managing Director, Jaime Gee bagged her first client as a one-person PR agency. 12 years on a lot has changed – the kettle is still never too far away though!
After starting with just one Jammer, Jam is now a fully integrated agency, boasting a diverse range of clients, a PR, Digital and Creative team of 12 (and growing, find out more here!), and an official headquarters; Jam Towers, right in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
We’re thrilled that Jam is going strong and we know why…
Jam set the trend for boutique agencies in Manchester. We were one of the very first to break away from the big PR agencies and set up to offer a more personalised service. Many agree with the Jam philosophy that a personal service is much more valuable.
We wanted to do things differently, working with like minded people and operating in partnership with our clients as colleagues, not just the hired agency. To this day we continue to operate this way and our clients continue to work with us because they love this way of working as much as we do.
Diverse client base
We’ve been lucky enough to work with businesses both large and small.
Working with big brands like Argos Pet Insurance, Hydes, Velcro brand products, The University of Manchester and Argos for Business, to name but a few, we’ve been a part of devising and delivering exciting campaigns and we’ve had a lot of fun doing it!
While we have plenty of big brand experience, Jam has always supported amazing startups (having been one ourselves), giving them a voice in the media and helping them achieve ambitious business objectives. A few we have worked with include DueCourse, Circleloop and Wakelet.
We’re also a charitable bunch and are proud to have supported amazing charities doing phenomenal things, including Charlie’s Chance, Cycling Scouser, Survivors Manchester and Disabled Living. Always looking to give back to the local community, Jaime has become a trustee of Disabled Living.
We’re not afraid of evolution
While PR is what we were founded on, Jam has always kept abreast of the evolving marketing landscape. Creating holistic campaigns, to support our clients’ business objectives has always been our aim. Recognising this from day one, we’ve offered an integrated approach, facilitated by our in-house creative team, formerly known as JAM Creative.
We also created a dedicated digital arm to the agency. Evolving our offering and constantly expanding our skill set has set us apart from other agencies. Earlier this year, we officially rebranded, merging JAM PR and JAM Creative into Jam_ to truly reflect the integrated approach we offer to our clients

We’re not stopping here! As we’ve already done over the last 12 years, we will continue to evolve to match the changing landscape and needs of our clients.

We’ve won awards in every area of PR, Creative and Digital and earn more every year. As we turn 12, we’re gearing up for an award-filled November as we’ve been shortlisted for 12 awards next month! How fitting!
We found the perfect mascot
We’re not trying to brag here, but we have the best office dog in Manchester. Our Client Services Director, Maurice is always happy to welcome visitors to the office with a shouty announcement and attend meetings with guaranteed biscuits. When he’s not working away, he’s great at finding every good spot of sun available.
