PR Account Manager

We are looking for a PR Account Manager with agency experience, to develop and grow our B2B and B2C accounts.
Joining our amazing team of Jammers you will lead on PR campaigns for established brands within the financial service, tech, sustainability and leisure sectors, among others.

Our clients are a mix of B2B and B2C, so experience working across a mixture of accounts is essential. If you’re not comfortable working on B2B accounts, there is no need to read on.

Jam is an integrated communications agency devising and delivering comprehensive marketing solutions, utilising a combination of tactics that support clients in meeting strategic business objectives, encompassing everything from web (UX / UI / build), paid media, social media (paid and organic), PR, creative, digital outreach, brand development and more. Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the broader marketing mix and can talk knowledgeably about the benefits of PR and the role it plays in campaigns, with clients of all levels .

Reporting into our Account Director and working with the SEO and social media team, you will be responsible for PR and content for your clients. You will be hands-on, responsible for campaign planning, PR outputs, budgets and client queries. With daily client contact you will manage and nurture solid client relationships.

You will be a strong writer, with solid editing skills, highly organised and an exceptional communicator, with demonstrable media relations skills, including proven coverage generation. You will be comfortable speaking with and building strong relationships with your team, clients, suppliers and the media.

Working closely with the Account Director, you’ll devise and implement hard working press offices, develop communications plans, create campaign proposals, contribute to new business proposals and provide robust analysis. You will be required to lead engaging presentations to both clients and internally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client counsel – providing clients with guidance,  communicating through weekly performance calls, meetings and day-to-day contact
  • Planning, management and implementation of strategic and creative PR campaigns
  • Copywriting (press releases, features, comments, white papers, reports, blogs, award entries and more)
  • Media relations and coverage generation
  • Monitoring clients’ industries, immersing yourself in their industry news
  • Measure and report on the performance of campaign activity, refining where necessary
  • Guiding your account team, mentoring them in their roles
  • Regularly produce insightful, client-facing reports
  • Developing proposals and pitching for new business
  • Supporting Jam’s own PR and marketing

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 3+ years agency experience in PR management
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing PR campaigns
  • A solid understanding of B2B and B2C accounts, with proven results
  • A passion for B2B PR is desirable
  • Strong media relations skills and a portfolio of key coverage in national and trade media (print, online and broadcast)
  • Understanding what makes a good story, tailoring content and tone of voice for different sectors and audiences
  • A strategic approach to PR and broader marketing
  • An understanding of how campaigns and content work across digital channels and help support SEO
  • Ability to present work in a clear and meaningful way directly to clients and internal teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding project management, organisational, planning and time management skills. Experience of project management software, such as Monday is preferable but not essential.
  • Experience with tools and software to track activity and results, such as Gorkana, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Kantar, Meltwater

Salary dependent on experience

Location: Northern Quarter, Manchester City Centre + working from home. Applicants must be willing to work from the Manchester office at least twice a week.
